Victoria Lynn Peggs

Victoria Lynn Peggs, 64, of Parkersburg, passed away April 1, 2017, at Heartland of Marietta following a short illness.

She was born in Front Royal, Va., on Dec. 14, 1954, the daughter of Elouise Cutright Cosner and the late Gerald Paxton George.

Victoria enjoyed reading and history. Furthering her education was very important to her and she had several degrees including a degree in Criminal Justice. She had worked with the Wood County Sheriff’s Department for 15 years as a Deputy Sherriff. She also enjoyed teaching and taught at the college level. She was a member of the Wood County Historical Society and St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

In addition to her mother, Victoria is survived by her sons, Phil Peggs Jr. and Gerald Peggs; five grandchildren, Mary, Sarah, Berry, Preston and Bella; two sisters, Theresa Montgomery and Judy Bennett; brother, Kevin Cosner; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Victoria was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Phillip W. Peggs Sr.; daughter, Tanya Peggs; and brother, Bobby Cosner.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Father George Nedeff officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
