Mary Lou McCreery

Mary Lou McCreery, 84, of Lowell, Ohio died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, surrounded by her family at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 20, 1932 in Lowell, Ohio to the late Della Mae Smith and Floyd I. Spence.

Mary graduated from Lowell High School in 1950. She married Frank Anthony McCreery, on February 14, 1952 at Barksdale Air Force Base Chapel in Louisiana. She worked for the Village of Lowell and Lowell Elementary School and earlier in life she worked at Becker Motors in Marietta. In the past few years she enjoyed her time at Brookdale and appreciated all their kind care. Mary was a member of the Lowell Christian Church and loved spending time with her family, cooking, and Brookdale Bingo.

She is survived by one son, Frank A. McCreery, Jr. (Bridget) of New Matamoras, OH; three daughters, Susan Johnson (Mike) of Marietta, Pam McCreery of Fleming, and Beth Elder (Tony) of St. Marys, WV; four grandchildren, Mikal Elder of Las Vegas, NV, Jenny Johnson of Houston, TX, Will Johnson of Marietta, and Ashley West (Jeremy) of New Matamoras; great grandson, Loftyn West; family friend, Michelle Crum; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on August 31, 2011. Also preceding her in death was her infant son, Francis A. McCreery and sister, Virginia Stalnaker.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell with Brian Smith officiating. There will be no visitation.
