Ryan C. McDonald
Ryan Charles McDonald, 60, of Parkerburg, W.Va., formerly of Belpre, Ohio, died suddenly on Friday, June, 16, 2017.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on Aug. 29, 1956, to Charles and Geraldine McDonald, who preceded him in death, as well as, his brother, David McDonald; and nephew, Scott Vance.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue McDonald; his son, Nate (Summer) McDonald (MT); his daughters, Annette Emrick (WV), Julie Balderson (WV) and Tara McDonald (CA); his sister, Barbara Vance (OH); his brother, Kevin McDonald (OH); seven nieces and nephews; and seven grandchildren.
He graduated from Belpre High School in 1974 and attended Marietta College as a Petroleum Engineer and worked for Chesapeake Energy. He was an avid golfer and loved to golf with “the group” from Oxbow. He had a love for music and took great pleasure in playing his guitar. He enjoyed spending weekends on the river: barbecuing, on the boat, or fishing. He adored his grandchildren and took every advantage of any opportunity he got to spend with them.
He had a huge heart, loved fully and never met a stranger. He will be missed dearly by many. In Ryan’s memory, the family requests that you play a round of golf in his honor.
Services will be on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor Jeff Williamson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
