Beverly K. Harkins

Beverly K. Harkins, age 69, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born February 9, 1948, in Marietta, daughter of the late Kenneth and Narelle Harra Weinstock. Beverly was a 1966 graduate of Waterford High School. She was employed by Marie Antoinette Nursing Home as a dietician, by The Anchorage Nursing Home as an aide, and she was also employed as a kitchen manager in the Marietta area. She was a member of Augusta Rebekah Lodge #272 and Friends of Selby, both of Marietta. Beverly enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, gardening, canning, and fishing, and she was a fan of NASCAR, Ohio State football, and the Indianapolis Colts. She was known as a community grandma and babysitter, and she loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Terri Ann Weinstock; one son, Michael David Weinstock; one sister, Barb Henry; two brothers, Bill and Jeff Weinstock; and two nephews, Dennis Ullman and Dwayne Henry.

Surviving are her husband, Glenn A. Harkins, whom she married October 7, 1981; her children, Dez Carpenter of Rinard Mills, Julie A. Schneider of Marietta, Casey Carpenter of Marietta, Karen J. (Darren) Leister of Waterford, and Mikel P. (Megan) Carpenter of Marietta; her siblings, Paul Weinstock of Maplewood, Blaine Weinstock of Stockport, JoLinda (Terry) Pollock of Beverly, Karen Snow of Marietta, Doris (Dave) Brooker of Lowell, Doryl “Bud” Weinstock of Marietta, and Marvin (Jerimiah) Weinstock of Groveport; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Scratch.

Friends may call Sunday, August 13, 2017, from 1-5 P.M. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 5 P.M. with Pastor George Clark officiating.
