Mary Anna Wallace

Mary Anna Wallace, 77, of McConnelsville passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville.

She was born January 15, 1940, in Marietta to the late Friend Emory Wallace and Dorothy Brill Wallace.

Mary Anna grew up in Stockport and graduated from Windsor High School in 1957. She attended Ohio University in Athens for one year then moved to Columbus.

While living there she answered an ad about working for National Airlines. She applied, got the job, and flew to New York City on her first plane ride. She worked in New York for several years. She worked for many companies, owned two businesses and lived in many places before returning to Morgan County.

Mary Anna was an active member of the Democratic Party and worked for the Board of Elections. She enjoyed following all the activities of her nephews and nieces and their children. She is survived by two brothers, Denny (Sue) Wallace and James (Donna) Wallace, a sister Sara (Will) Palmer. Mary Anna was aunt to Steven Wallace, Carl, Richard (Annetta), and Mark Wallace, Dori Palmer, Tami (Drew) Greuey and Cleve (Melissa) Palmer. She was great aunt to Stephanie and Zach Wallace, Joshua, Chelsa and Bailey Wallace, Cody (Katie) Palmer, Michael, Devan and Danin Greuey, and Kendall, Charlee, and Quinn Palmer.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a nephew Ty Palmer.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at the Stockport Cemetery.
