Darrell ‘Steve’ Cochran

Darrell S. “Steve” Cochran, 58, of New Matamoras, OH passed away, Friday, December 7, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Darrell Gene and Helen Jean Smith Cochran. He graduated from Frontier High School in 1978 and from Marietta College in 1996. He married his wife, Cheryl, of 38 years on August 10, 1980. He worked at Ormet, GE and was currently employed at Public Debt as Data Center Branch Manager. He served in the Washington County Board of Education for many years. He was a member of Salem Hall United Methodist Church where he also served as the Pastor for the last two years. He was a member of the Matamoras Masonic Lodge #374 AF & AM. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, pitching horseshoes and spending time with his family. He coached the girls Matamoras “Red” softball team for many years. He coached in the Mighty Midgets basketball program. He also coached the girls basketball team at Frontier High School from 1996 – 1999.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl; three children, Stephanie Cochran, Kristie (Casey) Morris, and Shayna (Ethan) Morris, all of New Matamoras, OH; five grandchildren, Katelyn Morris, Kaelee Morris, Parker Morris, Wesley Morris, and Mason Morris; two brothers, Jeff (Covena) Cochran, and Philip Cochran; Mary (Dusty) Daugherty, Rebecca Beck; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell G. Cochran on July 3, 2016 and by his mother, Helen J. Cochran on June 1, 1998.

Service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Terry Pringle officiating. Burial will follow in Matamoras Cemetery. Viewing will be on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. with a Masonic Service at 6:00 P.M. An online guest register is available at www.ingramfh.com.
