Geraldine “Jerry” Westbrook

Geraldine “Jerry” Westbrook, 95, of Marietta passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at The Arbors of Marietta. She was born in Athens County on February 11, 1924.

Jerry graduated from Rome Canaan High School in Stewart, OH and was a member of Sixth and Washington Church of Christ. She had worked at Brickwede Brothers as a shipping clerk during World War II. She was a Girl Scout Leader and directed Girl Scout Day Camp in Williamstown. She also did volunteer work for American Red Cross and for the church and bowled at North Hills Lane for 40 years. She enjoyed her exercises and volleyball at the O’Neill Center.

Jerry is survived by her daughter, Donna (Robert) Joy of Sarahsville, OH, two grandchildren Doug (Megan) Joy of Cambridge and Carmen (Ward)) Murrey of Logan, OH; four great grandchildren, Zane and Zach Murrey, Peyton Joy and Alex Smith.

On December 3, 1945, she married Ralph D. Westbrook who preceded her in death on August 1, 1991.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (April 17) at 10 a.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in East Lawn Memorial Park. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
