EVE auction important fundraiser for vital organization

We encourage you to take a walk past the Peoples Bank display windows in downtown Marietta to check out some of the hundreds of items up for sale at Friday night’s EVE Inc. auction at the Lafayette Hotel.

We think you’ll be surprised at the variety – pro sports tickets, golf packages, jewelry and handmade pottery to name a few things – donated by local businesses and individuals for both the silent auction and live auction.

The auction is the main fundraiser for EVE, which provides shelter, transitional housing, counseling, and more for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Last year, EVE raised about $24,000 from the auction event.

EVE is counting on everyone in the community to get involved in the auction. Tickets are $20 per person, $175 for a table of 10. Call 374-5820 to make reservations, or simply show up the night of the event. The silent auction begins at 6 p.m. The live auction begins at 8:30 p.m.

Money raised Friday helps our neighbors and allows EVE to fill a variety of needs throughout the year.

So, we strongly encourage you to check out the list of auction items that appeared in the weekend paper, or, if you desire, check out the Peoples Bank display. Then, on Friday, take some time out of your busy evening and participate in the annual EVE auction.

It’s truly a good cause.
