Time to practice and get ready for the games

Practices are just beginning for our area’s high school athletes. It’s hard to believe opening week for the prep football season is less than a month away!

Before we get too wrapped up in the games and individual performances that will be grabbing headlines this season, we want to wish everyone the best of luck.

Wins and losses are part of sports competition. Football, soccer, volleyball, cross country, and golf, to name a few, test the skills of the players involved. Excellence is recognized through success on the field.

But we’re not concerned about the outcomes of the upcoming contests. That’s out of our hands. We just want everyone to remain healthy and be able to do their very best on the field of play.

Good luck.

And we urge each player to take advantage of these first days of practice. We know they will be grueling, but that’s the point. They really are a time to prepare for what’s ahead – the games.

It’s time to get ready!
