Homecoming a valuable event that brings people together
Marietta High School’s Holiday Homecoming Friday is full of memories for former students and current and former teachers.
It’s a great way to build rapport between generations and for the high school’s “family” to keep in touch as the years pass. We’re glad people are taking part in the event.
We hope more and more people get involved in future years, taking time out of their busy pre-holiday schedules to touch base with old teachers and former classmates. It’s good that in recent years, participation has exceeded expectations because the food provided has been devoured.
It’s also good that money is raised through the homecoming event, giving it more meaning to the Marietta community. This year, money was raised to help renovate the MHS auditorium, which really will be a plus for the entire community. The hope is to install new seats and carpet, improved acoustics, new lighting and access in line with the federal Disablities Act. We wish the fund raisers good luck.
Above all, the homecoming is just a nice event for everyone involved that promotes good feelings about Marietta High School.
