Thompson good for business

Andy Thompson is familiar with the ins and outs of running a business. He is publisher of Bird Watcher’s Digest, a Marietta-based business owned and operated by Thompson’s family for decades.

It’s that experience that makes him a good advocate for businesses in Ohio and specifically the 95th Ohio House District which includes all of Noble, Harrison and Carroll counties and parts of Belmont and Washington.

Thompson, a Republican, already has received endorsements from the National Federation of Independent Business, The Ohio Chamber and the Ohio Farm Bureau. And he’s been praised locally by business leaders because of his stance against a severance tax on oil and gas producers and his efforts to help launch Shale Crescent USA, an effort to attract manufacturers to the Valley to take advantage of the region’s natural gas reserves.

Finally, Thompson’s work to implement Ohio’s Common Sense Initiative has helped clear the way for businesses to set up shop in Ohio, helping to boost the state’s economy. CSI helps eliminate red tape and streamline processes to make doing business in Ohio and the Mid-Ohio Valley easier.

On Nov. 8, voters should return Thompson to office so he can continue his work on behalf of businesses.
