Local stage offerings top notch in quality, quantity
Have you noticed that there’s so much more in the Marietta/Parkersburg area than museums, farmers markets, vibrant church congregations willing to pull together to serve meals at no cost to their neighbors?
As residents of this area, we are so lucky to have community theater groups — the Mid-Ohio Valley Players and Parkersburg’s Actors Guild — that time after time offer familiar titles well done by actors, directors, and stage personnel. And it adds up to a satisfying experience for audiences in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Youth programs are ongoing and make available an enduring legacy on local stages.
And local community theater groups are just a part of the bigger picture. Also Marietta College has an active theater department. Peoples bank Theatre has made an effort at drawing top notch talent to its local stage and should be praised for its efforts.
For a town the size of Marietta, local stage offerings are a point of pride and add to this area’s quality of life.
For those presenting local stage plays, it’s truly a labor of love. Just know that people are noticing your efforts and we hope the good work continues. We’re all better off for your hard work.
