Belpre looks ahead with Greenley at the helm
Belpre City Schools’ Board of Education has named a replacement for retiring superintendent Tony Dunn.
Jeffrey Greenley will take over Feb. 1 after unanimous approval from the board.
He has big shoes to fill, but also an important role in moving the district forward. His credentials suggest he is well suited for the task.
Greenley, who is leaving a job as superintendent of Switzerland of Ohio Local Schools, has already been through what board President Brenda Church described as a “robust curriculum realignment process.” He was in charge of nearly $7 million in capital improvement projects and, along with other counties’ officials, worked to better align the Swiss Hills Career Center with regional workforce goals.
Switzerland of Ohio is the largest geographic school district in the state — overseeing that kind of operation must have been no small task.
But Greenley will be expected to bring just as much energy to his work in Belpre.
Next week –the day after Christmas — the board will host a meet-and-greet at 4 p.m. at the Stone Administration Building in Belpre.
While it might be tempting to skip this one, spend more time with family and friends, a thought you might have to pass along to Greenley could, in the long run, have a much greater impact on the wellbeing of some of those kids running around in their extended sugar cookie haze.
Welcome aboard, sir. Belpre residents are surely looking forward to the next chapters you will write for Belpre City Schools.
Local residents, do not miss out on the opportunity to add your voices to the story.
