Kiwanis Club thankful for community support
On behalf of the entire Kiwanis Club of Marietta, a big hearty “thank you” to the people of Marietta for supporting our 59th annual Pancake Days, Feb. 1 and 2, at First Congregational Church.
Despite an ill-timed snow storm and a level two snow emergency on that Saturday, we still raised almost $20,000. And I’m happy to report that, as is our custom, all of that money will stay right here in our community, supporting various nonprofits and programs.
The list of people and businesses to thank is an impressive one, so here goes!
Thanks to Linda Steelman and her staff at First Congregational Church; all the Key Club volunteers from Marietta High School and Warren High School; Builders Club volunteers from Marietta Middle School; the Marietta College Circle K Club; Marietta College’s Delta Upsilon fraternity; Dave Broughton and Broughton Foods Company; Marietta Memorial Hospital; Janisource; Gordon Food Service; Food 4 Less, all the businesses and people who donated items for the auction and country store and, of course, the current members of the Kiwanis Club of Marietta, who devoted countless hours to the cause, ensuring another successful event.
Mark your calendars for next year, Feb. 7 and 8, our 60th annual Pancake Days. We’ll be there … we hope to see you, as well!
