Organizers of benefit thank community for support

The Kyle Gregory Benefit Committee sends a heartfelt thank you to the Marietta area community – individuals, businesses, organizations, and the media – for helping to make this benefit an overwhelming success, raising more money than the committee ever dreamed possible.

We extend a special thanks to the Marietta High School administration for allowing us to use the school cafeteria and to custodians Troy Lee and Jacob Westfall, who donated their time the day of the event. We also want to thank Buddy Sams, who donated his time to be our auctioneer, and our Marietta First Baptist Church family for supporting us with many donations, volunteer service the day of the event, and prayer.

Expenses for the event were very minimal, thanks to the community’s generous donations of items for the spaghetti dinner and the auction – ensuring that almost all the proceeds went to the Gregory family – Kyle, Brenda, Lisa and Kelly.

The benefit was organized to help the family recover financially from Kyle’s extended illness after he was diagnosed with arachnoid cysts on his brain in 2011. He has undergone six surgeries in two years (four in 2012) and is still recovering. Both he and his wife, Brenda, have missed many months of work during his trips to the hospital, making meeting the family’s financial needs difficult.

Thanks again to a very caring community that has given not only financial support but personal expressions of concern to a family experiencing difficult times.

May God bless you.
