Plans under way for special summer camp
It’s time again for the Arc of Washington County to begin plans for Summer Camp 2013. The Arc is an organization that advocates for the rights of citizens with disabilities. The Washington County Arc has been sponsoring a summer camp for children and youth with developmental disabilities for several years now. We offer nine days of fun-filled activities for our special campers. If enough funds are raised, we plan to go bowling, to a movie, the aquatic center, picnicking and making several crafts like stepping stones and tie-dyed T-shirts. School is out and our campers get a chance to see their friends in a relaxed camp atmosphere.
Many thanks to the Washington County Career Center for providing classrooms and cafeteria space for our day camp activities.
Many thanks to the businesses that have donated over the years. We have a DVD of a previous camp that we would be glad to show to your groups.
We have started our funding campaign and would ask that you respond to our Arc telephone call. We know times are hard for all of us and groups are constantly asking for money, but our camp would not exist without you. Every donation helps. If you have any questions, call me and I’ll answer or find someone who can.
If you haven’t been called and would like to donate: Arc of Washington County, P.O. Box 1003, Marietta, Ohio, 45750.
Thank you in advance!
