Community turned out to help roller derby event

This past Saturday, on June 8, The First Settlement Derby Dames, our local roller derby team, held this year’s first home bout in honor of my husband, Henry Leimkuehler.

We would like to thank both the team Hades Ladies who played against P.U.R.R (AKA Pennsylvania Underground Roller Rebellion) from Mercer, Pa., but also the home league and all their local sponsors.

We would very much like to thank the community who came out to support their local roller derby team but also to support my husband’s battle against Multiple Myeloma cancer. This benefit helped us with the growing medical costs incurred while getting much needed treatment in both Belpre’s Strecker Cancer center and Ohio State James Cancer Center.

If you know someone who has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and would like to have more information, please contact The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
