Hard-working volunteers truly made a difference
Make a Difference Day was a busy day in Marietta!
A hard-working team of eight students from Marietta College with the guidance of Becky Wright and Patrick Stewart, longtime volunteers at Kroger Wetland, using wood chips donated by Kidder Tree Service improved the surface of the main loop trail tremendously.
In Camp Tupper, a number of residents of Washington County Juvenile Detention Center and Marietta College students Luke, Zo, Taylor, Lindsay, Tabby and Laura with guidance from Rhea Bockhorst, Marietta Tree Commission, using mulch donated by Greenleaf Landscaping, spread newspapers and mulch around about 40 trees. Such mulching extends the lives of the trees as well as lowers maintenance costs for the city.
A difference was truly made at both of these areas – thank you!
