Community came together to help local family

On Sunday, April 27, folks from the community, various churches, and Wood County Christian School came together to help a local family. The response to the Tucker Heslop spaghetti dinner benefit and silent auction was overwhelming. At this writing, $22,200.52 has been raised to assist Tucker’s parents, Perry and Beth Heslop, with medical related expenses.

On behalf of the family and those involved in carrying out the benefit, I want to thank the community for their generous support and overwhelming encouragement. There were 88 businesses and individuals who contributed to the silent auction. Numerous businesses and individuals contributed to the needs for the meal. Approximately 850 people attended the dinner.

Thank you to all who helped, contributed, and attended this benefit. Even in the midst of a great trial in life, your support was a tremendous encouragement to the Heslop family. To God be the glory for putting into the hearts of folks in this valley the desire to reach out and help those in need!
