Frontier alumni appreciate golf scramble support

Frontier Alumni Association classes 1969 to 1989 held their annual four man golf scramble on May 3. Said scramble was held at the St. Marys golf course in St. Marys, W.Va. Through dark clouds at times and very few sprinkles a great tournament was held. Golfers started the day with a donut breakfast, started golfing at 9 a.m., had a hamburger/hot dog picnic styled lunch, golfed 18 holes and left with a complementary T-shirt.

On behalf of the alumni committee I would like to thank everyone who helped in our 3rd annual golf tournament, sponsored a hole, donated and or prepared food, or helped work the scramble.

Congratulations to Greg Edgar and his team for taking first place, Frank Antill and his team for taking second, and Ronnie Bowersock and his team for taking third. Also, congratulations to Keith Binegar on winning the lottery tree and to Frank Antill for winning the 50/50.

The most important part of the day was that money was raised for the alumni’s Frontier High School Scholarship/special projects fund. For the past two years the alumni has been able to award two seniors from the graduating class a $500 scholarship. The alumni have also been able to help the school out with some special projects with the fund raisers that are held.

The alumni would like to remind the classes 1969-1989 that the 4th annual class reunion is fast approaching. This year’s dates are Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14. Both nights festivities will start at 6 p.m. and again will be held at the Comfort Inn on Pike Street in Marietta. Reservation forms have been emailed, mailed, and hand delivered. If you have not received a form, please contact a committee member or myself and we will get you a form. You can also visit our website at www.frontieralumni.com where a form can be downloaded from the site. If you do not have access to a printer, just send your information and payment in to Judy Morris Rutherford, 125 Stanley St., Newport, OH 45768. The alumni reunion is open to any Frontier High School graduate from the classes 1969 to 1989. Hope to see you there.

In May of 2015 please consider gathering up a team to play in our 4th annual golf tournament, details will be available closer to tee time. Again, thank you for everything that was done to help our golf tournament once again be as successful as it was.
