America in Bloom judges commend Belpre’s entry
Congratulations to Belpre on your third entry in the America in Bloom (AIB) competition!
America in Bloom’s goal is to assist communities in becoming a destination to live, work and play. Evaluations are done throughout the country and the individual results along with awards in like population categories will be presented at the National Symposium in Philadelphia, Oct. 2 to 4, 2014.
America in Bloom is an overview of a number of facets of your community. The six criteria judged include Environmental Efforts, Heritage Preservation, Urban Forestry, Landscaped Areas, Floral Displays and Overall Impression. These categories, along with a look at community involvement, are designed to bring communities and people together to discover the many features and hidden gems that exist within their community. The judges provide seasoned insight and consultation toward improvements and their recommendations will further assist Belpre to promote and achieve a holistic, functional and vibrant community.
Two judges, Sue Amatangelo and Susie Stratton visited Belpre July 7 and 8 to view, praise and challenge your community’s progress in discovering and touting its hidden amenities and attributes along with improving the environment and quality of life of its citizens.
We heartily commend you for your efforts and involvement in America in Bloom and look forward to your participation for many years to come!
Congratulations to the America in Bloom Committee led by Leslie Pittenger, Mayor Mike Lorenz, Jon Neff, the Belpre in Bloom Committee, city departments, businesses, volunteers and everyone who contributed to this very significant effort. A special thank you to Chief Eric Sinnett.
Our sincere thanks to all of Belpre for your warm and wonderful hospitality.
