Zonta appreciates support for projects

The Zonta Club of Marietta would like to thank the community for all of their support of our recent Unique Boutique Clothing Sale on April 8 and 9. This is our largest fundraiser that we hold bi-annually and all the proceeds go to scholarships for female non-traditional students to further their education. We give many yearly to Washington State Community College students and this year we will be also giving to Washington County Career Center.

The Zonta Club of Marietta along with the above scholarships also awards The Woman of the Year annually to an outstanding women in Washington County whose exceptional, dedicated volunteer service to the community over the years has enhanced the lives of others. Thanks to all of our loyal individual supporters who continue to give us donations every dale. We truly could not have this sale without your donations. We would also like to thank these supporters and volunteers: WMOA, WTAP, Marietta Times, Marietta Township Community Center, Cranston Real Estate, Board of Realtors, McCarthy Real Living, Advance Real Estate, and the WSCC students.

All of the remaining clothing was donated at the end of the sale to Gospel Mission, Salvation Army, Latrobe Mission and The Church of Christ on South Seventh Street for their Africa Project.

The success of this event would not be possible without the continued support of all of the Zonta members, their families and friends. Our next sale will be Nov. 4 and 5. We will be taking donations from Oct. 31 through Nov. 3 every evening at the Marietta Township Community Building on Sandhill Road in Reno. I hope to see you there!
