Editorial on Al Gore’s presidential bid way off target

The recent Times’ editorial attempting to equate Al Gore’s presidential election experience to Donald Trump’s refusal to agree to accept the results of the election misses the mark by a mile. Al Gore won the popular vote but lost in the Electorial College because of a razor thin vote difference in Florida. Remember the hanging chads? Gore allowed the legal system to work and accepted the results. Trump has claimed for months that the election system is rigged against him. His refusal to agree to accept the results of our democratic process appears to be an unprecedented stance condemned by both Republicans and Democrats. The difference between Al Gore’s experience and Donald Trump’s pronouncements should be clear to even a casual observer of politics.
