Stand up and say ‘no’ to Trump come Election Day

The power of our First Lady’s speech yesterday was so moving it brought me to tears; what an excellent role model she is for America’s women and girls. For the past eight years she has had to endure being constantly demonized and ridiculed, yet she has kept her balance and consistently expressed compassion and goodness to all who are open to her. I honor her courage and offer her as a shining example to everyone of what womanhood can achieve.

She spoke for every woman and girl across this country who has been sexually and emotionally abused by men such as Donald Trump. And this sick man is the Republican nominee for the highest office in the land. How far we have fallen! I grieve for my country.

Somehow there are tens of millions of Americans who are sticking by Trump no matter how obscene and abhorrent his message becomes. Even many of the Republican leaders say they will continue to support him including our own Senator, Rob Portman. The end never justifies the means, Senator.

We live in critical times. I call on all women and girls, along with all the good, decent men who love them, to stand up and say, as Michelle Obama said yesterday: “Enough!” If we want this world to be a better place for girls and boys, then we must get involved and do the hard work necessary to create that kind of world. We must say “yes” to those candidates who will work every day for our benefit, here in the 21st century, and say a resounding “no” to those who want to drag us back to the fifties. That means you, Donald Trump!
