Offering thanks under Trump presidency

Now that Donald (rude, crude and lewd) Trump will be our next president, I have assembled my “thank goodness” list.

I am thankful I am white.

I am thankful I am a citizen … Oh, wait! Maybe not! I was born in Hawaii when it was still a territory; not a state. Trump needed five years before deciding President Obama was actually a legal resident of America. I can only imagine how long he would need to decide if I qualify to stay in this country.

I am thankful English is my first language (unlike Melania who speaks with an obvious accent).

I am thankful I am older and my child bearing years are past since women will lose all reproductive rights. Like all “good” Republicans Donald (bullying billionaire) Trump doesn’t like government interference except when it comes to women and their decision to have or not have a child.

I am thankful my grandchildren are too young to serve in the military since Trump “loves war” and “knows more than the generals.” Of course neither he nor children have served in the military.

I am thankful I won’t be meeting Trump since I know he would have some remarks to make regarding my physical appearance — old, short and, while “I don’t eat like a pig,” I am not the tall, Eastern European woman Trump really loves.

I am thankful I don’t have asthma or other lung issues since Trump (I don’t believe in climate change) will support more air pollution, water contamination, forest destruction, etc.

I am thankful I know how to “live poor” or at least poorer since Donald (I don’t need facts) Trump will be raising my taxes so the very rich can get richer, the corporations can get richer, a bureaucracy to locate and deport millions or illegal immigrants can be established, that “wall” can be built, etc.

In conclusion, I expect the supporter of Donald (never apologize) Trump to:

Get up every morning, put on work clothes and spend at least 40 hours/week laboring, working, toiling and sweating to “Make America Great Again.”

Donate at least eight hours/week to a local nonprofit organization to help “Make America Great Again).

File and pay your taxes … no loopholes, no voodoo accounting practices, no subsidies, no bankruptcy etc. so “your money can be used to Make America Great Again.”

Buy only Made in America goods and shop at local businesses and downtown merchants (avoid the big box stores) to help “Make America Great Again.”
