Questions persist about senior levy

I admit up front that I did not completely review the matter of the senior levy presented on the general election ballot a few weeks ago. I read the Nov. 24 Marietta Times article, “Senior agencies vie for piece of levy” and discovered some of the funds raised through the tax goes to support “the nine senior clubs throughout the county.” The article went on to report a “percentage of the remaining overall funds” (which earlier in the article was listed at about $1,088,000 total each year) goes to the O’Neill Center for “adult services and prescription assistance.” The levy, as I heard the pitch before the election, was for these needed senior services. My two-part question is: how much actually goes to support these specific senior programs and what does the balance fund?
