Marietta Kiwanis thankful for support of event

The Marietta Kiwanis Club would like to thank the community for supporting the 64th Annual Pancake days Feb. 2 and 3, 2018. Pancake Days is the club’s largest fundraiser and all the proceeds — over $20,000 go back into our community.

The club members served over 1,600 people in just 1 1/2 days.

Kiwanis is a service club whose purpose is to promote human and spiritual values, good citizenship, fellowship and altruistic service through voluntary action.

The Marietta Kiwanis Club supports services in the community such as landscaping projects at the Middle School and High School, maintenance of Lookout Park, Terrific Kids at Harmar and Phillip’s Elementary, picnic shelter by the Marietta College Boathouse, Marietta Picnic Pavilion-Flanders Field donation, Halloween in the Park, Northwest Territory Community Playground Sponsorship and sponsorship of the Marietta and Waterford High School Key Clubs, the Marietta Middle School Builder’s Club, and the Marietta College Circle K Club.

The club also takes part in bell-ringing for the Salvation Army and placement of historical markers throughout Marietta.

Thank you to the following for either donations or in some way supporting the event: Broughton Foods, Marietta College Delta Tau Delta, McDonald’s, Crystal Spring Water, Warren’s IGA, Marietta Memorial Hospital, Ash-Hanson Flowers and Wedding Innovations, Barlow VFD, First Congregational Church, WMOA, Marietta Times, WTAP, TV15, Marty’s Print Shop, The Marietta Adventure Company, McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home, Patten’s Appliance, Morrison Inc., Back2Back Chiropractic, Vogue-Swift Cleaners, Peoples News, and Twisted Sisters.

The success of this annual event would not be possible without the continued support of the Kiwanis members, volunteers, basket and raffle donors, and a benevolent and hungry community.

Ann Hontz,

Marietta Kiwanis Club
