Marietta recycling center re-opens after flood
The Marietta Area Recycling Center reopened as of noon Tuesday, Feb. 27. During the closure, additional gravel was added to the lot in the area of the cardboard and paper trailers to address subsidence issues from the last flood.
We also prepared for the addition of a new trailer for steel. The recycling center would like to thank the public and businesses for holding materials while volunteers prepared the site for the forecasted flood and also after when volunteers have been getting everything re- setup to open.
Also, special thanks to recycling volunteers Donnie Heiss, Dave Buchanan and Kathy DesMarteaux as well as Jordan Anderson, who assists with the recycling program/Asst. Lacrosse Coach at Marietta College, and Ohio Valleye Sprayfoam who all helped prepare the site for the flood.
We are fully operational and ready to take recyclables!
