Kudos to Board of Elections members
On Election Day I had the opportunity to be an observer at the Washington County Board of Elections. In Ohio, the county Board of Election members are made up of two Democrats and two Republicans charged with efficiently, fairly and cooperatively administering our elections.
After witnessing the process of reviewing every absentee ballot the machine rejects, I was struck by how there was universal agreement on why the ballot was rejected, usually the circle was not dark enough, or someone did not fully erase an accidental mark on the ballot. These members agreed on the voters intent and the ballot counted. Our county members, Dennis Sipe, Jim Huggins, Charlie Wentz and Glenn Ray work hard to insure every vote counts. Thank you for administering our election process so professionally.
