Thanks for support of Plant and Bake Sale
People in the Mid-Ohio Valley support each other. The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta would like to thank everyone who supported our 2019 Marietta Plant and Bake Sale – those who donated, those who shopped and those who volunteered their time. Several hundred plants and garden items went to new homes for the beautification of our area and increased habitat for bees and butterflies. At the same time, shoppers enjoyed a variety of homemade baked goods and the poetry and music of Bloomsday, making for a particularly enjoyable afternoon.
Finally, thanks to the generosity of this community, the maintenance fund for our 1857 Gothic Revival church building in downtown Marietta was increased. This fund preserves the legacy of architect John Slocum and nineteenth-century Marietta mayor Nahum Ward, founder of the society.
Again, thanks to the community for its support of this event. We will see you again next summer.
