Toy and Doll Museum thanks community for support of yard sale

On behalf of the board members of Children’s Toy and Doll Museum of Marietta, we would like to thank everyone who participated in our recent Yard Sale-Fundraiser event held on June 22. The event was a huge success with proceeds going towards the maintenance fund and ongoing projects of our museum. The outstanding support confirms that the people of our local community are interested in the care and preservation of the Children’s Toy and Doll Museum.

We would like to take this time and opportunity to thank our surrounding Marietta neighborhood communities for their support and the wonderful friends who made generous donations for our yard sale event because without your donations we would not have met with the success we achieved.

Our gratitude goes out to our museum volunteers who gave their energy and positive attitudes of “we can do this”, by working together through several days of tagging, organizing the donations, setting up on the day of our sale, and for maintaining their presence all day during the yard sale event, you are very much appreciated for your dedication, hard work, and support.

We also want to give a special shout out to Don Kern and Ronald Pfile for providing their service of two vehicles and to Andy Anderson for helping them carry and lift boxes of donated items while setting up for the day’s event and for their assistance at the end of the day with transporting our yard sale remains to a storage shed for our next yard sale scheduled for July. Thank you to Jackson Patterson and to the neighborhood friends from Main Street West, we appreciated you popping in to help set up. Our thanks and appreciation include two helpful Marietta College basketball players who came in to help out, Jason Ellis and Michael Hall.

Our success was achieved through determination, perseverance, hard work, and dedication of our board members and volunteers who contributed their talents, energy and service to the event’s success.

With all this being said I end with an appropriate quote which encompasses all we have successfully been able to achieve this weekend:

Henry Ford once said, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

Thank you everyone!

On the behalf of Children’s Toy and Doll Museum,

Diane M. Pfile

Board vice president
