January 18, 2010 - Jennifer Houtman
There are lots of reasons to love The Marietta Times and for many, our daily crossword puzzle is one of them.

Those avid puzzle people are probably wondering why the puzzle was switched last week. The good news is our original puzzle makes a return this week.

The brief change occurred at the corporate level where decisions are made about which puzzles will be offered to the company's newspapers. It appeared last week that the old puzzle would no longer be offered and so we made the switch, only to learn at the end of the week that we can switch back.

Thanks to the many people who called asking about the change. All of you wanted us to return to the old puzzle, so we have. It's nice to hear how all of you make the crossword a part of your day.

Readers of our daily comics will notice a new addition: Andy Capp. In the midst of the back and forth on the crossword puzzle, we also learned that we no longer would carry Snuffy Smith. Again, the decision to drop Snuffy Smith was made at the corporate level, but the decision on what strip to replace it with is up to us. As of now, we are running Andy Capp, but if readers have another suggestion, we'll definitely consider it.
