October 4, 2010 - Jennifer Houtman
Today is the last day to register to vote for the Nov. 2 general election, and many people already have cast votes - early voting started last week.
At The Marietta Times, we'll be working hard to provide you with comprehensive coverage of candidates and issues now and through the Nov. 2 election. Readers of The Marietta Times in print and online can go to our Web site's home page and look for the Election 2010 header - all of the stories done by our reporters will be posted there. You can also find election information where we post Letters to the Editor and Viewpoint columns.
We've already done several stories that have appeared in our print edition and are now posted online. Our pre-election Voters Guide will appear in this coming Saturday's printed edition (Oct. 9) and will also be posted online this weekend. The guide will include interviews with candidates, stories on issues as well as information you need for Election Day, such as polling places and sample ballots. And, as we've done in years past, we will offer our endorsements. Look for those in the next week. Again, we will be doing them earlier to account for more voters casting votes through the early voting process.
Finally, let us know how we're doing. If there's a story or an issue related to the election you think we've missed, let me know. As always you can send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 376-5401.
