Warren coming off a big win vs. Belpre to play at Philo
Coming off a big victory in Week 1 over the visiting Belpre Golden Eagles the Warren Warriors have a lot to build on as they prepare for a trip to Philo to play the Electrics Friday night. Those positives began with the opening kickoff which was taken back for a touchdown by senior Andrew Dunfee, even though it was negated by an illegal block. They continued with the strong play of the defensive line and linebackers, who limited Belpre standout tailback Ashton Packard to a meager 55 yards rushing on 19 carries. Picking out the positives and correcting the negatives, such as some mistakes in the blocking assignments and closing the line gaps, the Warriors are hoping to pick up their second win against the Electrics. “We look for a good, exciting football game,” said Warren head coach Jim Pifer. In order to pick up their second win of the season against the Electrics the Warriors will need another strong showing by the defense against the run and eliminate the big pass play.
