Cadets on the run
BEVERLY — If everything goes according to plan, at approximately 2 p.m. Saturday, Jeremy Anderson is hoping to be standing on a podium at the state cross country meet at the Scioto Downs Race Track in Columbus. And, if that’s where the Fort Frye senior cross country standout is, he’ll no doubt have a big smile on his face, because he will have achieved his goal of All-Ohio status. “The top 25 runners are All-Ohio,” Anderson said, “but the top 15 get to stand on the podium, and that’s where I want to be. I think there’s not enough room up there for all 25 to stand.” Anderson’s Ohio Division III boys run is scheduled to begin at 1:20 p.m. When he toes the starting line, he will know how fellow Cadet teammate and friend Sarah Biehl fared in her 11:05 a.m. girls race. “This is so exciting,” Biehl said, “to get this far and compete against the top runners in the state. I’m so happy. It’s been a fun season.
