Brothers’ motto: ‘Let’s get it done’
Adam (left) and Aaron Sears
During the typical weekly 10-minute chat Bob Sears came to count on when his son Aaron was stationed in Iraq, there suddenly came a loud blast, quickly followed by another. “Damn, dad,” Aaron told his father. “I’ve got to go. We’re taking in bombs.” It would be nine long days before his youngest son could call back and tell his father he was safe. With two sons in the U.S. Army, Aaron and Adam, Marietta father Bob Sears has double the worry — but double the pride. “Their attitude is always ‘Let’s get it done,’” said Sears. “They’re ready to go, and they’re willing to serve their country.” Aaron, 31, served a 13-month tour in Iraq in 2003 and 2004 and his brother Adam, 33, is scheduled to be deployed for his first tour Dec. 9. Both have been stationed in Germany and Korea, and Adam served a tour in Bosnia-Kosovo during conflict there. “They’ve been all over the world,” said Sears.
