Derek Stanley can probably forget about sleep for three days when Marietta College hosts the 2009 NCAA Division III National Track & Field Outdoor Championships at Don Drumm Stadium May 21-23. But that’s OK by the sixth-year Marietta College head track and field coach. He’s got lots of energy, and figures to be very, very busy. “I coach the distance runners, so hopefully, there’s one chance I can get a distance runner in the women’s steeplechase,” Stanley said. “If that doesn’t happen, I can focus on the meet administration, and my assistant coaches who are their primary coaches can still focus on their coaching at the national championship. I’m not really worried about it that much.
