A quilter’s dream

Midge Miller, an employee of Quilter's Corner, measures material at the store's new location on Tennis Center Drive in Marietta.
Quilter’s Corner has moved from its downtown Marietta location to a space nearly twice as large. On May 5, the quilting store moved from Tiber Way to Tennis Center Drive off of Ohio 7. “The reason was because we needed more space,” said Jenice Miller, the store’s owner. “I think the last one was 2,100 square feet. This one is over 4,000. “We can accommodate more stores (of materials), our classroom is twice the size and we can add more inventory,” she said. The new location also has additional parking. Miller owns the Tennis Center, and had some extra space in the building, so she decided to bring them under the same roof. “I was amazed at how big it was,” longtime customer Colleen Griffith, 43, of Sistersville, W.Va., said Friday on her first visit to the shop’s new location. “It has a nice spacious classroom and everything is so much bigger. “They’ve always been helpful,” she said. “I recently bought a Bernina sewing machine, and they helped me learn to use it.
