I once was buying a bag of apples and a kid who was three or four walked up to me and asked me "what are those" I told him apples. I just couldn't understand how a three or four year old didn't know what an apple was. Then I saw his mothers cart.

Maybe the school could also target themselves. The kids have 5 drink options, 1 of which is healthy, water, 1 which is helathyish, milk, and 3 which are HORRIBLE, lemonade that is all sugar, no juice, fruit punch which is sugar and chocolate milk. I tell my kid to only drink water, but I hate that they offer kids such unhealthy options.

WOW, ASKNOT. What do you consider a healthy drink option? And when did MILK become an unhealthy beverage? You do have one other option, pack your child's lunch everyday!

They need to server only whole milk to kids till there over 14 the 2% milk doesn't have the fat the brain needs to develop properly

Clickhere, umm, I answered that, water. Milk is borderline healthy, if it weren't for the growth hormones, antibiotics, etc in it, granted its better than chocolate milk or juices. And yes, I do pack my kids lunch, but I let him get a drink there, water. I'm just saying, I don't understand why 3 out of 5 drink options kids have in school have about HALF the amount of sugar they should get ALL DAY. 1 drink, half the sugar!

Milk is not a major factor for a child after a child is 2 years old. Children and adults should be getting all the nutritution from healthy eating, fruits and veggies, after that.
