Nobody on the left should oppose this. Isn't "redistribution of wealth" a great thing? Big government knows what to do better with your money than you do, right?

Chester05 - Find out where Kasich stands on this bill and you will then know where Andy Thompson stands on it. His head is so far up the butt of Kasich and the rest of the GOP that he couldn't have an original thought or stand on something if he wanted to. And he does NOT want to!

Roger loves the sound of his own voice. I am quite sure he will see to it that his property's will not be inspected for any maintenance issues. He is all for starting things and putting things in someone else's lap to finish. It is funny how one of the city's hoarders can point a finger at others. Kalter is a fine example of how to screw things up and expect someone else to straighten it out.

Number 1? Yep, Americans are number 1 at lots of things when compared to other industrialized countries: % of children living in poverty, % of population experiencing homelessness, infant mortality deaths, health costs as a % of GDP, murders, prisoners, military expenditures, % total income received by richest .1%, multiplier of CEO pay to average worker pay. Our 15 year olds rank 17th in the world in science and 25th in math. We are at 79th in elementary school enrollment, our infrastucture is ranked 23rd in the world, we are 27th in the world in life expectancy, 18th in diabetes and NUMBER ONE in Obesity. We WERE number one once upon a time because of policies developed in the 50's and 60's which have been eroded by greedy politicians and ever increasingly ignorant citizens. It would behoove us to look at what the rest of the world is doing. The international property code is the gold standard and speaks to quality of life for ALL. What we do impacts property values and each other.

My head spins when reading the proposed HB5, but my initial reaction is that the state should not involve itself in the local tax business. I find it hard to believe many reps would sanction such an idea. How would they like the federal govt telling them how to collect state taxes? And on the property code cop? Bad idea. We don't even have parking enforcement any longer because the position was a big money pit. A property code enforcement officer would be the same deal. How about the city fix it's problems with maintenance before telling the residents to fix theirs?

Remember last summer when our city cemeteries were weedy and the leaf pick up was slow starting due to lack of city employees? Now comes Kalter wanting to add a property cop to the payroll
