There are more problems in New Mat than fracking, Where are the police who should be arresting the out of town drug dealers who sell drugs and prescription pills to Marietta residents in New Mat side Streets. It's clear the protesters only want safety. There are no jobs are available for the locals.

The resistance has not achieved the results it wants thru normal complaining and lobbying. It has now turned violent. Be concerned it escalates further and people get hurt.

There is a big difference between protesting something you feel strongly about and damaging property and threatening people. There is a lot more to the story then what has been in the news. This group is dangerous and has no regard for the employees just doing their job. They have families to support. Obviously these people don't have jobs if they have time to travel all over the country to protest. I took a look at thier website and they brag about what they did and don't believe breaking the law was wrong. They also have many places to donate money for "the cause". Now who sounds fishy??

If the residents really are against fracking and believe the water is dangerous enough to ruin everyone- shouldn't it be the community who protests the company? Everyone has the right to protest but how many people actually live in the area affected? Or does New Matamoras like an outside group to do their protesting for them? It does seem strange the protestres would break in to the business grab the keys and try to stop up the toilets and scare the workers -pretty stupid way to protest.Once they get out of jail-if indeed there was room in the jail for this many people - not doubt the group will move on to the next place-and their interst in this area will fade away.

Rather strange when anti crackers suggest sabotage of equipment of O&G companies which is environmental terrorism that endangers life, the habitat and the well being of a community (note the employees knew not what the mob planned on doing nor did the police) Ever try to sue a tree hugger? No we the tax payer pays the bill!

Folks like Josh might accomplish more by going back to their bunkers and awaiting the arrival of the next over-hyped "apocalypse"!

Lol, can you imagine living like that...keeping the guns polished and ammo counted?...Wackos!!!

Question here, seems as if there are many experts in here so you might like to answer a few questions. As a member of a Fracking crew and our so called hazardous chemicals are so extraordinarly dangerous why is it Frac crews dropping like flies? I've been exposed to these chemicals in the home in the maintenance if the family vehicle in higher concentrations then here on a pad.

The accident in Taylor has absolutely nothing to do with fracing.

Bullsh!t...he was handling wastewater from fracking

The man was attempting to transfer briny wastewater from a tank into a truck, she said. What sparked the explosion is unclear and will be the focus of the state's investigation, already under way.

Drillers inject massive volumes of water, sand and chemicals to hydraulically fracture, or frack, the rock in which gas deposits are trapped. The gas then flows up for collection, as does the brine. The DEP says some of the chemicals in the brine could be flammable.

This article doesn't state it, but Greenhunter is a subsidiary of Magnum Hunter Resources, which also owns Triad Hunter (which just bought the large office downtown). If you research some of their activities in Kentucky, they've been fined numerous times by the EPA for such activities as dumping their waste into rivers. But hey, close your eyes and hold your nose; there's money to be made.

I have read the post's and here is my take.CeeJay,you have NO idea what you are talking about. The counties you say are dried up and brown from fracking. You are an idiot.I am there weekly and see beutiful farms that now have nice homes on them and well kept.Secondly,Josh Brown is as well full of it.Property values have increased due to folks having $$ that the federal gov hasnt had a chance to give to someone else yet.Go to Penn and try buying a farm for $0.70 on the dollar.Aint gonna happen. These protesters are thugs and thieves. They BROKE THE LAW stealing keys and tresspassing.GreenHunter DID NOT break the law.Last but not least,99% on here dont know fracking from injection wells. There is a HUGE difference.CeeJay wins the STUPID award for the comments made in the other blog from yesterday. Also,Federal rules dictate commerce clauses, not Andy Thompson. So Oneil, get of you soapbox and blab your liberal and uneducated info to yourself.

@MaryPoppins....wow, you are a liberal. quit blaming the rich. do not be jealous because they have money. i am not rich. you being liberal should know not to judge. liberals judge the rich, but take and take from them to give to the poor. i do not understand. do not slap the hand that feeds you. we get tax returns every year because they are forced to pay more and more.
