$250,000. from Peoples Bank, part of $1.7 million from private businesses, plus ... $$1.1 million from state funds & grants ... $328,000. from federal grants, $45,000. local donations, $2.9 million in federal & state historic tax credits ... Just sayin'! So, if the idea is that the theater should be named for the entities that gave the most $$$, should it not be called "The Taxpayers' Theater", or at least "The People's Theater"?

U got that right "it smeals". Just found out just how much Peoples/Barango Insurance really operates. Blatantant overcharges, fees that make no sence, poor coverage............so who do u thinks 'really'is "suppoting" the theater? Peoples Bank just spent $5,000,000 on what they call a "face lift." I guess they want to "improve their image!People's is "suppose" to be a "pillar" of this community.......SO PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And help where it "really counts." If you want to improve you "precious image

It is very nice of Peoples Bank to donate toward the restoration and preservation of the Colony Theater, but to change the name!!! That smells like flaunting what you have and dominating the city with your name. Would it not be better to show a little bit of humbleness? The name "Colony Theater" sounds like the historic city that we are. There are many ways to preserve the history of our city. Throwing your money around just to get your name out there is NOT one of them.
