I am very disappointed that Sands pushed this matter and got the local boaters kicked out. All this because Sands wants to hook up his party barge a couple of times a year. I say that the City make the parking under the Washington Street Bridge a metered parking lot or if the County owns it Ditto. I know that the Sands operation brings in tourists but we have to protect the citizens also. With limited docking facilities in this area, kicking this many boaters off of their docks just stinks to high heaven.

Beright if you looked at sands bid you will see that his marina provides the same amount of dock space and provides more services for the LOCAL boaters. Besides anyone that knew the Woodfords dock, knew it was basically family and friends.

Sands bid is LESS dock space not more. It will only be 300 ft versus 328ft of the Woodford dock. No assigned spaces and you will have to move when he attaches his party barge the Miss Lily. Also, Sands plan does not include a gangway to the dock, boaters have to enter or leave via the VG landing site. That is horrible especially when people line up to enter or leave the VG. The Woodfords have access to the docks, there is more room for boaters and you don’t have to move so that a party barge can be attached. As for the proposed pump station, he wants tax payers to pay for that with the grant he has applied for. This is a great plan for Sands not the recreational boaters local or otherwise.

Ohio Revised Code requires such leases to be awarded to the highest bidder.

The Sands were the highest bidder right??...

The Marietta Times has always been pursuaded..... There has never been one time that I have not spoken the truth in my comments. Yes,I will admit it is very difficult for me to refrain from using sarcasm. But even my sarcasm has a ring of truth to it. If you tell a child that he is a dummy while he is growing up, by the time he comes of age, he will be a dummy,...propaganda. That's why Syria is Syria today, that's how Hitler almost achieved World dominance.....propaganda. My point is, for example, Sam Shawver reported the Valley Gem had "an inside track". So when you read that, you immediately assume that the bid process was "rigged", which is basically an assumption/propaganda. Contrary to all of this, I demand the truth.

Want to know why Mr. Thomas was absent at this council meeting? It's the same reason he's often absent on Wednesday. He chooses to attend the Fair Board meetings instead of the city council meetings he was elected to attend and is paid to attend. It's time for this person to be removed from office, if he makes these kinds of decisions.

Tessie, I will admit that in the past I have critizied some of your comments. But I have always done so on the merit of the truth. I always knew that you are a very intelligent person and your comment on Steve Thomas is right on target. I firmly believe in your statement because I myself have a vast array of truthful facts about this "fraud". He has become an expert in using the system and he is nothing more than welfare trash, as far as I'm concerned. You have no idea of the antics, stunts and illegal activities that he was involved in in Orlando, Florida. Once again, his so-called claim to fame of all these certificates and blah, blah, blah have never been substantiated. The only thing he knows how to do properly is to receive money via government assisted programs. Tessie, you are absolutely right, he should be removed from office. Why in the h e l l the people in this community elected him confirms the thoughts that I have about how ignorant the people in this community
