Thank you Mr. Gibbs for messing up our spring break for a stupid ball game. Not everyone really cares and some think school is more important. Wasting so much money that should be used to bring back high school bussing.

Hey Johnson, what money was wasted?

Money for all those busses, gas and drivers that will be collecting overtime. Hotels for a extra night for what is now under a 2 hour drive along with the food bill. All that isn’t free and tax money shouldn‘t be used for it. If the school has that much extra money maybe they can cut out the pay to play fees.

Hey johnson, your ignorance is showing again. The State of Ohio provides transportation, hotel and all meals to all teams that make it this far in the tournament. No money is coming from the district itself. Remember: It's better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Yea right getthetruth, the state of Ohio is paying the bill for everything the school is doing. Get real and in touch with the real world. With all this new found wealth I'm sure the boe will be voting on doing away with all the pay to play fees or they can just send everyone a refund check.

I have a question about the buses transporting students to Cols. Who pays for fuel, drivers salaries and any other costs associated with this? I'm pretty sure the OHSAA isn't paying for those costs. Dunno...just asking.

Why don't you cheer your own team on FORTFRYEPRIDE? Most of us don't care about a basketball game. Not when they put it a haed of school work.

johnson, again, you keep removing all doubt. The schoolwork is not being cancelled; it is being postponed. No schoolwork will be dropped with this opportunity for the team, the school and the community. You choose not to support the team, fine; but I seriously doubt you speak for "most" of the community when it comes to caring about this basketball game. This team has accomplished something NEVER before done in the 50+ year history of the school. This team is not only representing the school, but the community (including YOU) and all of southeast Ohio as well . What have you done to bring anything positive to this area but complain and criticize? You are a sad, pathetic individual who is incapable of recognizing the positive impact this team and its accomplishment has made to this community.

For all of those so concerned about the gas to bus the kids to Columbus to support their school and team, don't worry, the district is not fitting the bill. The school charged $5 per kid to ride up and back.

This is a said state of affairs when grown adults are arguing over kids and a basketball game. You all should be very proud of what has been accomplished by Warren. This is such a great morral booster for our entire school district. Not like anyone was doing anything for spring break anyway. If they were they can still do it. No one is stopping them. And we are not loosing an instructional day. Do you "johnson" think of anyone but your self. You should be excited that these students get this opportunity. This doesn't happen to southeast ohio. All I can say is "GO BLUE" We will be there cheering you on.

The OHSAA does, in fact, pay expenses for the team (and cheerleaders). Aside from the per player costs and such, the bonus money from ticket sales is likely plenty to pay for the student buses to the game.

"Expenses will be paid for a for a maximum of 18 team members/school personnel. - Travel: $2.00 per mile one way (state road map) for each day of travel to participate. - Meals: $15.00 per day per individual for each day of participation. - Lodging: Per quoted rate for 9 double rooms if travel is over 100 miles one way (per Mapquest) and provided the official party stays overnight. - Bonus: 15% of school’s advance ticket sales. - Incidentals: A one-time payment of $200.00 regardless of the number of games played.

The BOE don’t need to ask the taxpayers for anymore money when they take a extra income and spend it on a want and not a need. The “pay to play” program turned sports into a business and the profits should go to the operating fund. Paying for a school fieldtrip is a total misuse of school money.

OHSAA pays for 18 players, coaches, etc. So who will be paying for the rest of the Warren contingent? Estimating there will be at least 15 players, 4 coaches, 3-4 school administrators, 8-12 cheerleaders. That adds up to at least 30. And do we all really think that the coaches and admistration will share a room with other coaches, etc? I see that the team went on a chartered bus-tose aren't FREE! :Bonus: money from sale of tics, will be ae up with excess pplayers, coaches, cheerleaders and paying for charteed bus. So now we get back to just who is paying for the 5 student buses? Are they district buses or chartered? Neither are free of costs! It would be great if there was this much fanfare when students acheived academic excellance! With that said, good luck to the Warriors!

Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but please check your facts before you spread untruths. The school is NOT paying for the team to be at the tournament. I feel that negativity creates more negativity. Please be supportive of these athletes and all that they have accomplished. Warren has many great students, some athletes, some not. We should be proud of all the students.

The school might not be paying for the team, but they are paying for the 5 bus loads of students. Yes some of the money is coming from the ticket sales. That money is for all the students, not just the ones that wanted to go to the game.
