March 20, 2013

Drivers along I-77 north of Marietta have noticed what seem to be solar-powered cameras mounted on utility poles every couple of miles on the northbound and southbound sides of the highway....

I find buckeyetraffic**** much more useful. I didn't see much of use on the site mentioned here.

"You are being watched. The government has a secret system: a machine that spies on you every hour of every day. I know because I built it. I designed the machine to detect acts of terror, but it sees everything. Violent crimes involving ordinary people, people like you. Crimes the government considered irrelevant. They wouldn't act, so I decided I would. But I needed a partner, someone with the skills to intervene. Hunted by the authorities, we work in secret. You'll never find us, but victim or perpetrator, if your number's up... we'll find you".

We are ALL important to Obama and his stooges as long as they can keep us voting them in office. If we don't vote the right way, you are right...we ARE unimportant.

Wow. It must be incredibly difficult to function in the world of paranoid delusion that some people live in. Folks, get a grip. As long as you pay your taxes, the government doesn't even care that you're alive. If you really believe that big brother is spying on you as you toodle about the roads of the MOV, you have delusions of grandeur that need medicated. You are unimportant. I am unimportant. Nobody is keeping tabs on what we're doing with flying robots.

Who owns the speed data? Can it be used by the public to make a case for or against raising the speed limit in Ohio as was recently mentioned to be considered again by our politicians? Is anyone making use of this data for this speed limit topic!!!? As a life long radar detector user, I confirm they are radaring me constantly and making my drives really noisy...

What rights to the data does the third party have that collects the data? Who owns the datas!!!! :)

Folks, look at your smart phone in your pocket. Many of them contain 2 micro-miniature, high resolution digital cameras. They contain transmitters and receivers. Do you think these speed monitors can't have a BETTER, more advanced photographic, video system built into them? Would any of you build a monitor without a camera?

They have video and photographic capabilities connected by a high priority cellular system controlled by homeland security. It cannot be anything else, regardless of what we read in the little old Marietta Times.

These "monitors" are directly connected to drones flying all around this country. If a suspected terrorist was speeding away on one of these highways, do you think these "monitors" would not be useful to homeland security. Think, people. The president has full control over using any and all means to fight 'terrorists" whether they are domestic or foreign. But, he's against torture.

Go figure. This is reality.

A speed "monitor"! Ha! Ha!

How many people actually believe everything they read or are told regarding the govt's spying on us? It's not paranoia if they're really after you!

Only a speed monitor! Ha! Ha!

First, learn to read, it's not a camera. It takes just as much video as a radar gun in an OHP cruiser. Second, most new GPS systems have an "avoid traffic" feature. The data collected by systems like this is what drives that function. Again, just because YOU don't use it doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

Speed sensors.....this is not a camera! I agree this is not a congested area. I can see business professionals using this for time management when planning their route for the day coming through the area. I was always prepared in case of traffic flow, flat tire, accident, ect. Why are we always in such a hurry. Then its hurry up and wait. More wasted money!

So they pay for the information and don't own them so they think they only do one thing. So they could also have face reconnection, license plate , and thermal cameras as well?

Can we all say "Big Brother"? Cameras recording everything we do all day and night. This WILL be used against us in a court of law. Make no mistake.

These devices are a huge benefit in "congested" areas, but neither Washington or Noble counties could be considered congested areas.
