MHS boys’ basketball coach J.D. Secrest steps down

For the first time in seven years there will be a new face at the helm of the Marietta Tigers boys basketball team next season as J.D. Secrest has announced his resignation....

Coach showed his true colors in the comment - "I didn't want to leave the cupboard bare for whoever comes in after me." His cupboard wasn't bare, he had 12 young men who did their best. It is a shame that he didn't realize this at the outset of the season and maximize the contributions of all of his players. Good luck to future MHS boy's basketball players.

This is great news for players coming back next year. Maybe even some quality players that chose not to play this year will come back to the program now. I bet this year's seniors, along with parents and many Tiger fans wish Secrest would have done more than just "think about resigning" before this year!
