It's a shame that the sheriff didn't have enough faith in his own people to fill this position.

The officers don't want to work overtime after working a 12 hour day. Good! I don't want them to either. Twelve hour days are pushing the limits in a job like this. To be asked to work longer hours or more days is setting these officers up to perform poorly.

So the funding has been in place for a few years right? Why haven't officers been hired? Whose responsibility is it start the hiring process? The Chief or the Safety Service Director?
