Wonder how many residents this town would have if all the trash drug suppliers and users were removed.

Looks like he is in a hospital gown. His only treatment should be placing him in a cell.

This paper never ceases to amaze me.....Looks like Ira was beat pretty bad too, I wonder how a 68 year old man barely able to support himself to walk did that in defense? There's a third party involved...and I believe both men were beaten by the same group of guys.

Maybe the times should do some more investigating before printing a story like this.....

armybrat, If a prisoner is bleeding or injured, the jail cannot accept him without being cleared by a medical professional. Although, I agree with you, because it's our tax money paying for these oxygen thieves medical care. If you follow the news, it is not the first time this individual has been arrested. Same names all the time.

I see numerous names all the time in the paper but it doesn't make them a murderer either....Something does not add up in this case at all. And the times has him pegged already as the person who did it.

Ira beat the older man to death. This was all more than likely over drugs. It's sad that someone died, but story doesn't come as a surprise.

Just wondering if evidence can be compromised by hanging a blood soaked towel in the backyard for hours. All kinds of airborne things came into contact with it.

I'd like this news story to contain more facts instead of all the gossip mongering. Why not wait until more facts are known before the reporter speculates?

alethia2002 i totally agree with you on trent mason. should have known he was a snitch, always wondered how he was one of the main hero1n dealers that you never hear about getting in trouble.. however your first comment makes little sense. you dont have to be able to walk to fight for your life. his arms still work and could grab something to hit dude in the face with. and you certainly dont leave a scene covered in blood with a dead man in your house and not call/wait for the cops to make a report of who broke in to beat/kill.. hello?! the paper didnt report any false info. and for the record, ali martin is a pathological lying drug addict. her word holds no value.

Tessie I agree about the towel being hung out on the line, wouldn't that be then compromised evidence? I don't think the articles tone was gossipy. I think the paper did a good job with theinfo they had. I do think ,wtf you are right /the will to live is strong and I think even an older person could put a big fight in order to try snd survive. I don't see the preoccupation,Alethia about this Mason person , the supposed snitch. That is one way the police try and curb drug trade. It's been used for years, so if it helps got rid of some of the her on trade the area , well good. For a small town Marietta has too much of a drug problem.

I used to work at a very busy gas station in marietta and you would see these same people, day in and day out and they are constantly in the paper for committing some sort of crime! Ali Martin is bad news and associates with trash. I'm sure the police know she's full of it, hence why she was arrested, the police aren't as dumb as people seem to think! As for the issue about "snitches" (Exofdevola)... The problem with that, though it's completely unrelated to this story (other than in these comments) is, they develop this attitude that they are above the law, not a tool that the police are using, but a "scarface, mob mentality" that they are untouchable... I have witnessed these peoples behavior first hand and I know they think they are the boss! As for Mr. Blair, I can't wait for the rest of this story to come to light because none of this makes sense and people are just making stuff up! Let the police do their job and let the paper report it without all this c cra

Agreed, Truthandbelieve. Ignorant statements made by ignorant people can get other people hurt.

Then, you have armybrat, Mid Ohio Valley Humanitarian of the Year, spreading his own special brand of ignorance.

When I first saw the picture of Ira Blair in the newspaper after his arrest he looked like he had been in a fight.Yes,there is a problem with drugs in this community;there is always someone getting arrested for drug possession.Yes,you can get DNA from a towel that's been open to the air.Look at all the times they have found DNA even after someone had tried to clean it up.The person who said at one point that Marietta was a place that murder was committed and never solved is going to be proven wrong.
