Poohbear80- No-one is claiming this lady is perfect, I'm stating she is a*****good mother to those girls, not the hoochie you are trying to make her out to be! You may know Roger but you do not know her and the girls! I have known her and those little girls since they were born! If he is so innocent as he is in your eyes why did he confess? If he did nothing to those girls he would be fighting it, the truth already has come out! They have the evidence they need, now to be done with the SOB!!

Poohbear80----Sounds like you need as much help as Roger!! For starters if his wife didn't want him anymore why would she go and get his named tattooed on her arm? Second of all, I have never known her to go out to the bars, This girl takes great care of her daughters, what parent wouldn't trust their children with their spouse.....are you that stupid. This mother and all the children are the victims here, not slow Roger. I have met this man before and he seemed normal, do not see where he is slow, he was a trusted individual in this family. People like you make me sick, trying to make the victims out to be the bad people. This man had windows of opportunities and he acted on them, he is one sick individual that needs CASTRATED!

Yes, we can all see how much less crime there is once we started giving out light or no sentences at all to criminals. This works about as well as paying people not to go to work.

Parrothead, there are many Biblical stories of people being killed, stoned to death, etc... and I'll bet there was a lot less crime. I believe in stiffer penalties for criminals and I don't see anything wrong with that.

No matter what article you comment on, or what screen name you use, you just want to insult, cause dissention, and drool liberal drivel. Just say something intelligent and people might want to listen.

Anyone who admits to sexually assaulting a child needs to be put to death. We need to quit housing these people for periods of time and then releasing them back into society to breed more of their kind. Eradicate them so the cycle does not continue!

truth40: Parrothead is someone who enjoys calling others names. He has shown that over the years. He will call me a "Barbaric neanderthal", but let this criminal off with a wrist slap.

This person is filth and beyond redemption of any kind. My family members live next door and this guy needs to be put away forever for what he did to his precious stepchildren and God knows who else. No excuses. You suck.

Not all parents know this is going on, close friends and relatives are the last ones to be a suspect.

Child abuse happens all the time, until they get caught nobody says a word. There needs to be severe punishment for these type of ppl, I don't want to hear about rehab, bull crap, this person is a sick individual, the affect that this will have on these children, I know because I was a child of abuse, it is not an easy road to continue on, it is something that can be conquered however. I am not an expert on what punishment should be set down on these ppl but it is should not be easy or short.

There are just too many "do-gooders" in this world that think wrist slapping is the best way to treat criminals.

It kinda honks me off that his three counts of rape will, in worst case served consecutively, only get him 33 years.

gonefromMOV: Actually, you are the type of person who gives the myth that your style of justice works. Obviously, it does not. If a "real" sentence were given, word would quickly get out and these criminals you seem to have so much concern for would not offend to begin with.

Here we go again. Another story of sexual abuse of a child followed by calls to revoke the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution and hopes that the myth of the "noble con" meting out justice on the prison yard will come to pass.

Here's what's going to happen to him. He'll be found guilty. He'll go to a medium or maximum security lockup where he'll be placed in administrative segregation with other sexual offenders, safely away from the general population. Hopefully, he'll never see the light of day again.

If you people would closely examine your calls for torture or prison yard justice, you'd realize that you really live on the fringe of society and you're the very people the framers of the Constitution protected us from.

Y'all are so quick to point the finger that the parent or parents weren't doing their job.Do any of you know the story?!?!? Didn't think so! This could happen to ANYONE!! You have people in your life you trust enough to leave you kids with and this is one of those situations. You can't be with your child 24/7, this creep took advantage of these little ones and everyone close to them. Just thankful one of them told someone!

As an ultra-liberal (not sure what this means)- I don't believe in the death penalty- and it costs way too much for life inprisonment- realistically- and education per se is not neccesarily the answer for these types of this is a canundrum for me--- but I must say again- where were the parents?

Washington State has it right they have an island prison for sex offenders. They keep them locked up for life even after their prison term is over. They are doing what it takes to keep children safe.

It appears no one has been there to protect these little girls. Thank you to the person who finally made the "anonymous" call to Children's Protective Services.

Parrothead you're right about treatment for the mentally ill, but I doubt any mental illness this person has is the cause of his behavior. Homosexuality was in the recent past, thought to be a mental illness, but it's not. It's a sexual orientation, just like heterosexuality. Pedophilia is also a sexual orientation, but a terribly disturbing and harmful one. I don't know what the answer is to stop the people who sexually abuse children and it certainly isn't an easy one.

It's not new, and it's not happening more. How many 12 & 13 year old girls were married off to older men in the history of the US. I'll guarantee some of these guys would have taken them as a wife when the were even younger. That's sexual deviation now but was a cultural norm in the recent past. Part of the answer is that these people's faces need to be known so that children can be protected.

slogoin: Why blame the parents? This guy was a family member and probably the parents trusted him.

I hope when he goes to prision that he gets put in with general population because they won't put up with that crap there. What a sick person. I can never understand what someone can see sexually in a child. I agree the death penalty would be sufficient for him.

There is no help for these people. They are attracted to kids, that can't be changed. We need to keep them locked up.
