Garrison should just stay in her little law office. The Dems threw her under the bus once, you'd think that would be enough.

Garrison is a fine lady with traditional American family values. She showed exceptional integrity by resisting her party's demand to support the radical pro abortion and gay rights agenda of her party.

She is what Democrats used to be: pro family, pro working person, strong on defense, easy on excessive regulation. I believe she understands that free people pursing their reasonable self interests is the basic tenet of this nation's founding and something that should be respected and encouraged.

I would like to vote for her but first will have to somehow overcome the linkage between her and the extreme agenda of her party. It may be impossible for me to overcome that a vote for any Democrat today is a vote for Pelosi or Obama or Shumer, or Durbin, or Weiner, etc etc

Spot on Rolling Stone! Ms. Garrison is that and then some. Being linked to her party leaders is her achilles heel. To me, she is more a conservative than a Democrat or Republican.

It is just a shame that to win as a politician, you have to be loyal to one of the two parties that has ruined this great nation.

"traditional family values" and pro-family? Her own career advancement has always been put above her children and family. That aint traditional family where I come from.

wps3417 i dont know of Ms. Garrisons family situation but if you think she has somehow denied her kids by pursuing her career you are light years away from the prominent view of most in her party.

Free contraception, free abortions without parental notification for minors (funded with the tax dollars from people like me who consider this murder), mocking and protesting the placement of God in their party's platform at the last Presidential convention...it goes on and on.

Indeed the typical modern Democrat elitist consider the traditional stay at home mom as the abnormality...of course women should work and have a career and not be inconvenienced by the quaint and antiquated idea of traditional motherhood.

Everything is relevant I guess but we could all do worse than electing Jennifer Garrison to the House. We just need some sort of assurance that she would maintain her / our values in the face of her party's lack thereof.

one more thing...i doubt if the Democrat bosses in her party will even LET her run. Her good work in assisting local landowners in securing shale gas leases in and of itself will probably kill her chances within the extreme environmental wing of her party. Definitely gotta check that box before you can progress in today's Democrat party..

after all its best to stay poor with run down roads and under funded schools than to develop a safe, local, once in a lifetime opportunity to improve this econimically blighted valley....just ask Walton or ask not an idiot or Freddie the Freeloader....

I want a representative who learned his kindergarten lessons well. Read Robert Fulgram's "Everything I need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten". Simplistic? yes. Realistic? yes.

To care about his personal religious or spiritual beliefs is normal I guess, but I don't share fundamentalist Christian beliefs that include legislating gender specific controls over a human being's body via anti-abortion propaganda and false sexual education. We already know that's what Mr. Johnson does. If that's what Ms. Garrison believes, neither she nor Mr. Johnson will get my vote.

Abortion is murder plain and simple and you might want to consider at least finishing grade school before you give up on your education.

But please in the meantime i agree dont vote.

What? No mention of Cora "Recount!" Marshall running for the spot? Can there possibly be an office she's NOT interested in?

Lou Gentile, what a joke! Doesn't stand a chance against Johnson.

Jenny Garrison...now there's some competition!

Rolling...you didn't say she had good Democratic party values. You said she had "traditional family values". Traditional is the key word there I guess. Where I come from that means Momma is home for and with the family. Lester - Funny comment , love it.

Wps, your comment about Garrison putting her career ahead of her family borders on Neanderthal. I'm a republican, a supporter of Johnson, and know the Garrison family. She is a wonderful Mom with a great family. Never misses a school event.

Talk issues all you want but baseless personal attacks are disgusting.

Prize to anyone who tells me how either of these 2 overcome the 20,000 votes Johnson won by the last two elections, in a district that has been drawn to be more R.

Also, does anyone know Lou Gentile feels after Varner ran over her with that bus she threw him under??

Agree with @fanoftigers. Family attacks against Garrison are disgusting. Keep it about the issues. As for Gentile, I just looked up his FB page. He did win 5 out of 10 counties in 2012 where Obama only won 1 out of 10. I'll say this, if I were Johnson, that would concern me.

All the "outrage" over WPS3417's comment but not a peep will be heard about the troll's "Grumpy" reference.

Well, you know, he is grumpy. And a stuffed shirt. And out of touch with reality.

As for my education Rocker, it should be obvious by now that I have one, both formal and through living and working in life. But sometimes, the simplest lessons are the best lessons. One must learn that to have effective communication, one must meet his audience where they are. Since so many are on the level of inexperienced, uneducated, naive, kindergartners, that's what I'm doing.

Mr. Gentile has my support and my vote. He's a good man and will work well for Ohio.

I always admired the way Garrison kept the public informed to what she was doing and planed to do and why she supported or didn't support something.
